About the firm
Bay Area Capital Funding Inc. is a mortgage brokerage serving borrowers throughout California, with roots in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are not a bank and we are not a call center — we are an intermediary whose job is to get your file in front of the lender most likely to approve it on the best available terms.
How we are structured
Bay Area Capital Funding Inc. is owned and run by Helen Casserly. Loans are originated through Silicon Valley Capital Funding, Inc., a licensed California real estate broker registered with the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System under NMLS #279873 and California DRE #01411900. That arrangement gives us institutional lender relationships, compliance oversight and dedicated processing support — the infrastructure a file needs to actually close — without putting a corporate layer between you and the person handling your loan.
What it does not give you is a queue. Every borrower works with one named advisor from the first conversation through to signing, with a direct line to reach them.
What we do differently
- We place, we do not sell. A retail bank offers the loans it owns. We take your file to a network of wholesale lenders and compare real terms across it.
- Files are prepared before underwriting. Our processing staff review the file first, because most closing delays are conditions that could have been anticipated weeks earlier.
- Complex income is routine here. Self-employment, RSUs and equity compensation, bonus income, multiple properties — the Bay Area rarely produces a simple W-2 file.
- We will tell you not to do it. If a refinance does not clear its own closing costs, that is what you will hear.

Helen has been licensed in California real estate since 1989 and originating mortgages since 1991 — over 35 years across several very different markets. She leads the firm’s advisory practice and still takes files personally.
Her practice is built almost entirely on referrals from past borrowers and the agents who work with them. She is fluent in Hungarian.
